Parent Guide

Parents Guide to School Holiday Camps

What should my child wear?

We ask that all participants are dressed appropriately for their activity and for the weather. In inclement weather we recommend layers, so that your child can take off/put on extra layers if they get too hot or cold (please ensure all items are labelled). We highly recommended shin pads to be worn for footballing activities.

A full range of training and playing kit can be purchased from the Rovers Store https://www.roverstore.co.uk/

What footwear should my child bring?

The footwear recommended depends on the venue that your child is taking part at. Most courses will take place on 3G astroturf or synthetic grass pitches, we recommend astroturf trainers or moulded boots, but no metal studs. Please call 01254 508256 if you have any queries.

Does my child need a packed lunch?

Yes. There are facilities to purchase food on site, we would recommend a packed lunch, a refillable drinks container, and any snacks they may require. We politely ask, no participant bring any product containing nuts to protect those with nut allergies.

What time do the activities run to and from?

All sessions vary, please check when booking the start and finish times. We recommended participants arrive 10-15 minutes prior to the start time to complete registration; with pick-up time adhered to promptly.

What if my child requires medication while on camp?

Please indicate the nature of medication and required dose and storage on the camp registration form. Please bring all medication is a sealed container, clearly labelled with the child's name, handing it directly to one of the coaches. Please note we can administer any medication directly; all medication must be self-administered by the participant.

What if I need to cancel?

Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details

Any further questions?

If you have a specific question that is not answered on this page, please email enquiries@brfctrust.co.uk or call 01254 508256.

What to bring

At Blackburn Rovers Soccer Schools, we want your child to get the most out their experience with us. We strongly recommend that your child brings the following items. If your child arrives at the venue without the compulsory items (marked *) we regret that they will not be permitted to take part and full payment will still be taken.

Appropriate footwear*

We recommend football boots (studs or moulds), Astroturf trainers or trainers. For information on the turf at specific venues, please click here.

Packed Lunch

Depending on the length of your child's course, a healthy lunch is important for your child to maintain good energy levels. Skill Development and Player Progression groups will have a 1 hour break for lunch. All groups will also break for a snack mid-morning.

Shin Pads*

Shin pads are compulsory for each child. Without shin pads, your child will not be able to take part. If your child does not currently own shin pads, you can purchase shin pads from our Club shop or online store.

Water

We cannot guarantee regular access to water at some venues, therefore it is important to ensure that your child stays well hydrated by providing plenty of water for the day.

Goalkeepers Gloves

If your child is a goalkeeper, or is booked on to a goalkeeping course, then it is compulsory to bring goalkeeping gloves. We will not be able to provide these at our courses.

Sun Cream

We recommend that you provide your child with sun cream, particularly during summer courses, as participants may be out in the sun for a few hours each day.
